On Wednesday, July 22, 2015, Incheon Metropolitan City and Weihai, China, signed an agreement on strengthening local economic cooperation and opened the Weihai Promotion Center on the 8th floor of Northeast Asia Trade Tower in Songdo International City. On that day, Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok of Incheon Metropolitan City and Mayor Zhang Hui (张惠) of Weihai formalized the foundation for cooperation between the pilot cities under the Korea-China Free Trade Agreement and discussed ways to expand cooperation in trade, e-commerce, tourism, services, and investment. The Weihai Promotion Center, established across the entire 8th floor of Northeast Asia Trade Tower, was set to serve as a hub for trade consultations and bilateral exchange between the two cities.
