On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) held a meeting on the construction of Cheongna Sky Bridge (formerly the Third Link Bridge), attended by representatives from 15 local construction companies in Incheon. During the meeting, IFEZ explained the project’s background, the original design, the bidding method for technical proposals in the detailed design phase, and the upcoming schedule. The agency also requested the participation of local companies in forming consortiums (joint ventures) to ensure that the construction would not fail to be awarded. In addition, the concerns and difficulties of local construction companies were heard. Cheongna Sky Bridge (Third Link Bridge) is scheduled to begin construction at the end of 2020 and be completed in 2025. The bridge will have a length of 4.67 km, a width of 29 m, six lanes (three in each direction), pedestrian walkways, and bicycle paths. Currently, contracts for Section 2, located on the Cheongna International City side, and Section 3, which will be prioritized for initial construction work, were requested from the Public Procurement Service last month.
