On October 9, 2006 (Monday), Incheon Metropolitan City Mayor Ahn Sang-soo and Han Deok-kyu, chairman of the Korea Middle East Association, held a signing ceremony at the Intercontinental Seoul Hotel to establish a Middle East Cultural Center in Cheongna International City. The construction of the Middle East Cultural Center is expected to play a major role in promoting Middle East capital in Incheon Metropolitan City, promoting cultural exchanges and tourism between Korea and the Middle East, and winning support from moderate countries to attract Incheon at the 2014 Asian Games.
