Daegu-Gyeongbuk (DGFEZ)   |  DGFEZ held the Forum for Building the Gyeongbuk Aircraft Smart Interior Industry



Together with the KITECH Avionics System Technology Center, DGFEZ held the Forum for Building the Gyeongbuk Aircraft
Smart Interior Industry through International Cooperation at the President Hotel in Seoul at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 18.

Around 60 Korean and overseas experts and businesspeople attended, including representatives of the National Research
Council Canada (NRC), the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace Quebec (CRIAQ), Bombardier
(the third largest aircraft manufacturer), Hanhwa Systems and Digitron. Starting with an introduction of areas of cooperation
with the Canadian aviation industry (presented by CRIAQ), the forum continued on with an introduction of the NRC aircraft interior
development center and opportunities for cooperation (NRC), a presentation on the current status and plans for the Gyeongbuk
aircraft smart interior industry (Avionics Systems Technology Center), aircraft interior development and certification plans (Bombardier),
introduction of aircraft interior R&D activities (Ryerson University), as well as a Korean corporate presentation (Hanhwa Systems),
and an introduction of Yeongcheon High-tech Park (DGFEZ). 

Commissioner In-Seon Lee explained the DGFEZ goal to “leverage this forum to actively attract businesses related to the
aircraft interior industry to the Yeongcheon High-tech Park, on which construction will begin in December.”
